Compact satellite speakers are used in a wide range of applications, from small hall PA, to large system 'in-fill' and 'delay'. M2 takes 'satellite' speaker performance to new heights, delivering a coherent wavefront with such power, width and depth, as only found elsewhere with full-size enclosures. HF compression drivers with rigid-polymer diaphragms, coupled to bespoke waveguides, deliver crystal clear highs. This extraordinary HF performance is confirmed by a specification revealing unequalled smooth response to beyond 20kHz, combined with consistent dispersion to 90 degrees. High-precision mid-range devices complement the accuracy of the HF, adding the unique capability to power smoothly and seamlessly through the entire 5 octave mid band, thereby eliminating the disrupting 'crossover transition' found in typical systems.

Though the HiZ M2 has been designed to be standalone, it is more than comfortable at a multitude of coupling tasks. Mini clusters, arrays and infill to name a few.

Amplification

A loudspeaker system is only as good as the amplifier driving it. Hill M-series use Chameleon, the world renowned high power studio spec amplifier technology, originally developed in the '90s. The classic Chameleon Total-Symmetry, Linear-Drive Circuit Topology guarantees effortless power with unsurpassed sound quality.

Drivers

A ferrite energised HF compression driver with rigid-polymer diaphragm mounted to a conical waveguide allow undisturbed dispersion with crystal clear highs. This extraordinary HF performance is confirmed by a specification revealing unequalled smooth response to beyond 20kHz, combined with astounding dispersion to a true 90 degrees. Two high-precision mid-range drivers complement the accuracy of the HF, adding the unique capability to power smoothly and seamlessly through the entire 5 octave mid band, thereby eliminating the disrupting 'crossover transition' found in typical systems.

Power

The Hill Hi-Z system uses a high impedance speaker configuration to drive an M2 with over half a kilowatt of Chameleon topology, together with specifically designed cables and optimised Driver Processing Unit to deliver an extremely high damping factor. This guarantees the output waveform remains true to the drive signal.

Low damping allows unrestrained cone movement, resulting in significant misshaping of the driver output waveform.

Crossover

One of the most valuable aspects of the M2 system is the lack of crossovers within the audible spectrum. As shown on the chart, most typical speaker systems lose some frequencies due to transferring to another driver. The M2 avoids this by using extremely effective drivers which provide excellent performance throughout the Audible Clarity Spectrum thus there is no need to move to another driver.
